Girolami Church in Naples reopens after 30 years

September 18th, 2009 | by Benedict |

After the restoration of some frescoes and chapels, the Church reopens Girolami in Naples. It is now almost 30 years, the church, in fact, was closed on prior to the earthquake of 1980.

The monument over time has become a negative example of the way it was practiced to protect the heritage of Naples. The church over the years has been the subject of several acts of vandalism and theft.

Yesterday (September 18, 2009, ndb) have opened the doors of the church after many years of neglect, it is possible, therefore, enjoy the beauty of this monument erected in 1586, with its facade by Ferdinando Fuga.

For now you will still have a partial opening, just because some parts of the church have not been restored.
