Tag My Museum: Technology and Cultural Heritage

For the Markets of Trajan Museo dei Fori Imperiali , the museum entered the museum system in the municipality of Rome, has started a new experimental project by the name Tag My Museum . The project, a collaboration between the Museo dei Fori Imperiali and IBM Italy Foundation, is to use the phone as a learning tool. Exploiting the potential of mobile technology and Tag, two-dimensional bar codes, you can visit the Museum following a special path: the visitor photographing the tag with the phone will receive a range of content on the phone that will guide him in the museum.

The project experienced in Oslo last year and now for the first time in Italy, is for children between 9 and 13 years, it will be a test phase until 19 June.

The boys will need a phone with camera and bluetooth and a plug-in downloadable from the site of the Museum or alternatively use a phone provided at the bookshop of the Museum.

Correctly following all the way suggested by the tags will be unveiled at a key word by which to win the Tag My Museum gadget.

This is only the latest initiatives of the network of museums of the city of Rome, Museums in the town , always attentive to innovations in teaching and communication of cultural heritage.
