Closed on National Archaeological Museum of Pontecagnano (Sa)
October 23rd, 2009 | by Anna |Just two years after its inauguration, the Museum closes Pontecagnano (Salerno). The reason? "Technical reasons". On the website of Superintendence for the Archaeological Heritage of the Province of Salerno and Avellino says, in fact, that "The National Archaeological Museum" The Etruscan border "Pontecagnano is temporarily closed for technical reasons on 25 October 2009."
The closure represents the opportunity for the CGIL to criticize the management of cultural heritage in the province of Salerno. In a statement, the union speaks of "agony" of the institution and of "intolerable levels", culminating in the closure of the Museum. According to CGIL, it seems that the measure has become necessary due to "serious safety deficiencies to the facilities," even if it is not to be underestimated "the lack of enhancement of the museum."
To cope with "agony", the CGIL calls for the reopening of the Museum and a project that promotes the recovery of territory Pontecagnano. The situation is aggravated by the failure to appoint the Superintendent of historical, artistic and ethno-anthropological, a circumstance which lasts from September and that is creating "a paralysis in the administrative offices." The vacancy, however, is not only to the manager, but also the administrative director.
But not enough: even the Architectural Heritage Office suffers from administrative problems. Here, in fact, are found "continuous rimescolamenti officials" and, similarly, at the 'State Archive of the union report a "continuous movement of personnel in the roles and functions."
Finally, it seems that in the near future, the management of the Charterhouse of Padula and 'archaeological area of Velia should go to a company related to the Campania Region. At this news, leader of the CGIL Braca Antonio replied that "the direct jurisdiction over the site of the Ministry of Culture Ministry must remain."
