Update on Turistarth
October 13th, 2009 | by turistarth |Turistarth: cultural tourism and new technologies, a potential combination. And not only. Turistarth is also the first event entirely dedicated to the enhancement and promotion of heritage through new media. The event, sponsored by Trait d'Union under the auspices of the Forum Net Economy - Chamber of Commerce and the Province of Milan, will be hosted in the prestigious Palazzo Giureconsulti - in Piazza Mercanti 2, 12 November 2009.
The latest technologies applied to cultural heritage of our country are still not adequately used to attract tourists and visitors to national and international art cities, sites of archaeological or nature, museums, exhibitions and major events of cultural interest.
The Italian cultural heritage, in fact, despite being the largest in the world, attracts only a fraction of potential tourists.
The conference will take place in a full day, divided into four parts, and will have as guests illustrious names in the industry and culture as the Sole 24 Ore, the Club "The Most Beautiful Villages of Italy", the Biblioteca Ambrosiana in Milan. There are also testimonies from foreign countries such as Morocco, Israel, Netherlands, who will present new technologies they use to promote the country in the world.
Turistarth give a preview of an event: a web project dedicated to the Museo Poldi Pezzoli.
The website, created with the collaboration of IBM Italy Foundation, the support of the Catholic University and funded by the Ministry of Culture, presents important innovations, including the ability to use the Iphone as a personal audio guide, downloading the contents put mp3 available to visitors.
Ample space will be given to the latest research in Italian Universities: These are the Bocconi University in Milan and the University of Calabria. Do not miss the salutation of the Institutions of the City and the Province of Milan.
Many other initiatives for the conference can be followed on site: www.turistarth.com
