In Verona Tocatì the Games of Ancient Greece
September 19th, 2009 | by Benedict |The call this time is for an event that seems interesting. It will, in fact, in Verona, from 25 September, the seventh edition of Tocatì, the International Festival of Street Games.
This year will be devoted to ancient Greece, the whole city will host in its streets, squares and courtyards historical forty gaming places. Piazza dei Signori Piazza become Greece and in collaboration with the Cretan city of Heraklion will set up a maze of 250 square meters at the Old Market Yard.
The event will also include a meeting of the Greek communities of Italy, who will play his own tradition.
The Festival will alternate games to play Italian Greek also, in the spirit with which the AGA, Ancient Games Association of Verona, has organized the event at the base of his initiative that started in 2003 when UNESCO proclaimed the traditional game, as intangible heritage of humanity.
The event will see many other initiatives, from the Greek dances, concerts, the typical products of Hellenic, to tell the story through the Greek Theatre of Shadows, puppets move behind a sheet and it will stage the deeds of the greek people.
An event for which the city of Verona and the Veneto Region, who collaborated on the project, have high expectations, given the presence of 250 thousand last year.
