Egypt. Sunken treasure. Travelling exhibition in Turin
February 10th, 2009 | by Benedict |It 'was opened in Turin on February 7 a traveling exhibition titled "Egypt. Sunken Treasures ". The exhibition is housed in the new exhibition spaces of the Stables Juvarriane Venaria in Turin, where you can visit it until May 31, 2009.
It is the only Italian venue for this event which offers the opportunity to see over 500 artefacts found in the cities of the Nile Delta, Alexandria, Heracleion and Canopus, in the first period of the Christian era were inundated with 6 feet of water.
Particularly difficult was the research that has benefited from the aid of sophisticated geophysical technology, surveys were conducted by Franck Goddio who also handled the traveling exhibition.
The exhibits cover a period of time ranging from 700 BC to 800 AD, thus providing evidence that Egypt had relations with the Greeks, Romans and Byzantines.
The exhibition is conceived as an event added to un'intressante frame in which we find the exhibition curated by Robert Wilson, with music and soundtrack by Laurie Anderson.
