In Naples archeology rediscovered works of the past once again on display

In the splendid setting of Palazzo Reale in Piazza Plebiscite, within the Historical, is on display in Naples, a series of archaeological finds stolen and recovered by the Carabinieri Cultural Heritage Protection in forty years of tireless work.
The exhibition will run until September 30, 2009, the ticket is 6euro, 3 euros for reductions, and no booking is required.

Among the works recovered the "Capitoline Triad" kept at the Archaeological Museum of Palestrina, the "Face of ivory" in the Museo Nazionale Romano, Palazzo Massimo alle Terme. The bronze bust of the goddess Minerva, stolen in the archaeological area of ​​Ercolano in 1975, and the face of a child, even in bronze, was stolen from the House of Vettii at Pompeii, in 1978 and recovered two years later. You can see four of the gold coins along with thousands more were robbed with machine guns and pistols from the medal of the Archaeological Museum of Naples, in 1975, and the fresco of 'Female Figure', dating back to the first century after Christ, pulled from wall of the House of Fabius Rufus in Pompeii.

In addition, of course, a rich selection of about one hundred artifacts from among the most beautiful and significant between Europe and America never recovered by the police of the Core Protection for Cultural Heritage. The exhibition, which is the first of three events, aims to raise awareness about the protection and recovery activities carried out from the weapon. The occasion was the celebration of the fortieth anniversary of the establishment of this very special group of 007, currently led by Gen. Giovanni Nistri, committed to finding stolen pieces all over the history of Italy.

The other two exhibitions will be in Rome and Florence. The first, Castel Sant'Angelo, from 10 September to 30 January 2010, is titled "Anthology of Wonders" and offers archaeological finds such as the Capitoline Triad of TI-century after Christ, the historical and artistic works including 'Christ between the Madonna of Mercy and St. John the Evangelist "by Andrea della Robbia. "Aspects of the sacred found" is another show that will take place at Palazzo Pitti from 21 November 2009 to April 6, 2010
