At Rimini the Festival of the Ancient World
June 7th, 2009 | by Anna |From June 18 to 21 will be held in Rimini on the Festival of the Ancient World. The event, derived from the exhibition Ancient / Present and now in its eleventh edition, is not only an opportunity to rediscover ancient Rimini and its territory, but also an opportunity to meet and investigate topics related to the ancient world. It is a journey into the world greek-Roman, in the Near and Far East, going back to the origin of rituals and myths of today, with the support of the protagonists of contemporary culture.
As part of the Festival will be held meetings on various issues, aimed at different audiences, including children. Meetings on literary topics, philosophical, historical, archaeological, anthropological, religious, legal, economic, scientific presentations will be held at the new publications, comments masterful, poetic-musical happenings, games, workshops, restorations, workshops, film screenings, food initiatives.
Are also various venues of the Festival: In addition to the Museum, the Surgeon's House, at 'Roman Amphitheatre, the Square and Library, the Museum of glances, you add this year the new dock in Marina di Rimini, where in collaboration with the Maritime Museum of Cesenatico, some boats will be moored traditional, old luggers.
The Festival will be inaugurated by a study day devoted to the war of the ancients and the moderns. We also provide several presentations of new publications, an important opportunity to update, contact and cultural exchange between scholars and enthusiasts.
The Festival is organized under the patronage of the President of the Republic, under the patronage of the Italian National Commission for UNESCO, the Ministry for Arts and Cultural Affairs, the Emilia-Romagna, the Scientific-Didactic of Rimini, the University of Bologna, ISTIAEN the Italian Institute of Naval Archaeology and Ethnology, in collaboration with the Institute of Artistic, Cultural and Natural Heritage of the Emilia-Romagna, the Museums of Cattolica, Cesenatico, Verucchio, Santarcangelo Romagna, the Higher Institute of Religious Sciences "Alberto Marvelli" in Rimini.
