XX International Festival of Archaeological Film Festival - Competition IX Premio Paolo Orsi

The following is the program of one of the important events of the Italian archaeological panorama. The film festival is an event of high archaeological importance to this sector and more generally for Cultural Heritage in Italy.

The exhibition and the prize Paul Bears XI will be held in Rovereto between 5 and 10 October 2009. We decided to publish the complete program to avoid any omissions. Enjoy!

THE EVENTS OF THE DAY

Fresh opening, the XX International Festival of Archaeological Film starts straight away with a day full of proposals not to be missed. Among these, in particular, the meeting of Greek at 17.40 with Emanuele, a professor of classical archeology at the University of Naples and current director of the Italian Archaeological School of Athens, which this year celebrates the centenary of the foundation by Federico Halbherr Rovereto . Greek, in conversation with the editor of Viva Piero Pruneti Archaeology and the public of the Review, will examine the theme "The Greek civilization bridge between East and West."

As for the projections of the main program, you mention in particular the films of the afternoon that will guide the audience to discover little-known aspects of ancient Greece: Rituals, suggestions of everyday life and worship of the dead and their influence on modern Western cultures . Significant then the proposed evening, including a nice documentary on the excavation of Herculaneum and which brought to light the ancient city buried by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD
